Nidia Góngora

Nidia Góngora is a renowned singer and researcher of traditional music from the Pacific region of Colombia.

She is six-time winner of the Petronio Álvarez Pacific Music Festival, a Shock Award winner, and Latin Grammy nominee in the “Best Folk Album” category. For over 20 years, she has been building a bridge between the musical traditions of her homeland and modern genres, creating a unique sound appreciated by listeners worldwide.

Nidia is the founder and lead singer of the Canalón De Timbiquí group, as well as the writer of iconic songs. Her voice has graced the major stages of Europe, Asia, and the USA, and her social mission inspires entire generations. She teaches children music, and develops cultural and social projects in Cali and Timbiquí, serving as a symbol of preserving her people’s identity.
