Brazil Joins “Intervision”: The Country to be Represented by Family Duo Luciano Calazans & Thais Nader

The organizers of the International Music Contest “Intervision” are pleased to officially announce that Brazil has joined the list of countries participating in the upcoming Contest.

The honor of representing Brazil on the international stage goes to the family duo Luciano Calazans and Thais Nader. They will represent the country not only as musicians but also as bearers of the idea of unity and traditional values, demonstrating the strength of creative and personal union at “Intervision”.

Luciano Calazans is a renowned Brazilian musician, composer, arranger, music producer, and multi-instrumentalist. He began his creative journey at the age of 15 and has earned recognition for his professionalism and exceptional talent.

Throughout his career, Luciano Calazans has collaborated with leading figures of Brazilian popular music, including artists such as Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, and Carlinhos Brown. Furthermore, the musician has participated in international projects, working with famous foreign performers. Among them are African singer Angélique Kidjo and American musicians: jazz guitarist Stanley Jordan and the founder and leader of the Black Eyed Peas, will.i.am (William James Adams Jr.).

The work of Luciano Calazans has been recognized with a number of prestigious music awards. In 2010, he won the Brazilian Music Award (Prêmio da Música Brasileira) in the “Best Song” category for the composition Tantas Marés. In 2012, the musician received the Braskem Theatre Award for the soundtrack to the play Amores Balanos, and in 2013 he became a Latin Grammy Award winner for the album Músicas para Cinema e TV (“Music for Cinema and Television”).

His wife, Thais Nader, is a Brazilian singer, composer, and influential figure in the country’s cultural life, with a musical career spanning over 20 years.

Her singing career is distinguished by performances at significant national and international events, including a concert with the Brazilian Air Force Orchestra at the Federal Senate building, a performance at the Brazilian Embassy in London, participation in the carnival in Salvador, as well as tour tours in Portugal and Spain. Particularly noteworthy is her participation as a special guest in Daniela Mercury’s project Pór de Som, which was live-streamed worldwide.

Thais Nader’s merits have been recognized with numerous awards. In 2015, she won the Educadora FM festival in the “Best Performer” category. Her collaborative work with Daniela Mercury – a version of a song in Portuguese – was included by The New York Times in the list of the ten best songs of 2011. Furthermore, her compositions received recognition at the SESC Music Exhibition (Mostra SESC de Música) in 2012.

This year, 23 countries will take part in the International Music Contest “Intervision”, including BRICS nations, CIS countries, Latin America, the Middle East, and the USA. The Contest final will be held on September 20, 2025, at the Live Arena venue in Moscow.
