People’s Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Honored Artist of the Uzbek SSR, laureate of international contests, singer and composer Mansur Tashmatov will represent his country on the International Professional Jury of the International Music contest “Intervision”.
Mansur Tashmatov was born in 1954 into the family of the famous composer and People’s Artist of Uzbekistan, Ghanidjan Tashmatov, who during his lifetime organized a large number of musical ensembles and orchestras, discovered many new talented names, and wrote over 150 songs and compositions.
Mansur Tashmatov followed in his father’s footsteps and dedicated his entire life to creativity and the development of pop music in the republic. After graduating from the Tashkent State Institute of Theatre and Art (now the State Institute of Arts of Uzbekistan) with a degree in “Actor of Musical Drama and Comedy,” Mansur Gannevich began his professional career performing with the ensemble “SINTEZ” and later with the ensemble “NAVO” of the “UZBEKKONTSERT” touring and concert association.
In 1978, Mansur Tashmatov became a laureate of two prestigious contests at once: the All-Union Telecontest “With a Song Through Life…” and the International Contest “Golden Orpheus,” where the artist represented the USSR and won third place. In 1979, for his active participation in the development of pop music in the republic, he was awarded a prize by the Youth Organization of Uzbekistan.
Over the years, Mansur Tashmatov was the organizer and member of such well-known groups in his homeland as “SADO,” “SANGZAR” at the Jizzakh Regional Philharmonic, “FAYZ” at the Uzbek State Philharmonic, an ensemble of modern jazz music, the group “RADUGA” (Rainbow) of the Tashkent Directorate “CIRCUS ON STAGE,” and was a soloist with the Pop-Symphony Orchestra of the State TV and Radio Committee.
Mansur Tashmatov’s vast creative experience was further enriched through numerous tours: the musician performed in Mongolia, Bulgaria, and many cities across Russia and the CIS.
In 2020, the musician became a laureate of the CIS Interstate Prize “Stars of the Commonwealth.”
