Nissar Lone is one of the most versatile and respected music figures in modern India, whose career is a vivid example of the harmonious synthesis of traditional heritage and modern trends. A composer, producer, and founder of his own label, Lone has gained international recognition for his contribution to music and his efforts to strengthen intercultural dialogue.
After receiving his education at the University of Kashmir, he continued his studies in music at the prestigious Trinity College in London. After completing his master’s degree in the UK, Lone returned to India to devote himself to Bollywood: his debut was working on the soundtrack for the film Shudra: The Rising (2012). Since then, he has created music for films such as Half Widow, Pranaam, and the romantic comedy Ginny Weds Sunny.
In 2009, Nissar Lone founded the recording company AR Music Studios (ARMS) in Mumbai, which became the first international platform for promoting Kashmiri music. Under his leadership, the studio released a series of hits that revived interest in the cultural heritage of Kashmir, including the track Harmukh Bartal, which was featured in the popular series The Family Man. ARMS continues to collaborate with the country’s largest labels, such as T-Series, Zee Music, and Sony Music, and has hosted legends of Indian music, including Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Arijit Singh, and Shreya Ghoshal.
The Indian producer actively promotes cultural exchange on a global level. He was the composer and director of the international anthem Asia & Africa – Together We Will Rise and Transcend. In 2024, he was appointed Global President of the BRICS Culture Media Forum, overseeing large-scale international art projects.
Nissar Lone’s performances and initiatives at venues such as the Russia-Africa Forum, the G20 Summit in Varanasi, and the Parliament of Armenia highlight his status not only as an artist but also as an influential cultural diplomat.
His work has been repeatedly recognized by leading professional awards: the composition Allah Teri Kya Shaan Hai Hai for the film *18.11* was named Best Spiritual Track at the Mirchi Music Awards in 2014, and the song Rubaru from the film Ginny Weds Sunny earned him a nomination in the “Best Song Based on a Raga” category in 2022. Furthermore, in 2022, he was awarded the K.L. Saigal National Award and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for Best Music.
The international community has also noted his humanitarian mission: Lone is an “Ambassador of Peace” (World Peace Federation) and a laureate of the Global Humanitarian Award. In 2023, he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the International Eurasian University in Moscow for his contribution to music culture.
This year, 23 countries will take part in the International Music Contest “Intervision”, including BRICS nations, CIS countries, Latin America, the Middle East, and the USA. The Contest final will be held on September 20, 2025, at the “Live Arena” venue in Moscow.
