On August 3rd, at the Tavrida.Art festival, AY YOLA — an ethno-pop group from Russia— was announced as the new Ambassador of the International Music Contest “Intervision”.
AY YOLA is a musical trio from Bashkortostan that creates contemporary ethno-music inspired by the ancient epic “Ural-Batyr”. The project blends ancient imagery and traditional instruments with electronic music and live performance. The members of the group — Adel Shaikhitdinova, Rinat Ramazanov, and Ruslan Shaikhitdinov — each contribute their unique experiences to the project.
The group began their creative journey in 2024 and, in a relatively short period, managed to gain popularity and capture the hearts of listeners. The song “Homay” became their calling card, amassing millions of streams on various music platforms around the world.
“For us, to be named Ambassadors of ‘Intervision’ isn’t simply an honor, but a confirmation of our musical mission. Our core principle is to connect eras and cultures through music, and the Contest was created precisely for such dialogue. We believe that ‘Intervision’ will unite talents from around the world, and we are proud to represent its values,” said the group members.
“Our musical path is a constant search for points of connection between tradition and modernity. Each of our songs is like an ancient ritual reimagined through the lens of today. That’s why becoming Ambassadors of ‘Intervision’ is more than just collaboration—it’s a kinship of souls,” they added.
The Tavrida.Art festival has brought together more than 289,000 young professionals in creative and cultural industries from 89 regions of Russia, as well as over 5,000 experts from various fields.
Previously, the title of Ambassador of “Intervision” was held by Honored Artist of Russia Dima Bilan and Russian singer Klava Koka. The final of the Contest will take place on September 20 at the Live Arena in Moscow. This year, more than 20 countries will participate in the International Music Contest “Intervision”, including BRICS countries, CIS, Latin America, and the Middle East.
